This is a re-post from May 2010, it was too good to pass up.
Oh and all you guys and the gals in the DOC are making it hard to write - there are TOO many great Dblogs to read!!! It might take me weeks to catch up! Great stuff out there folks - loving it!
Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep!
Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep!
Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep!
"Grace, do you hear that?"
"What Mom, oh that, yeah, I hear that. It's some kind of high sound, like squealing."
"WHERE is it coming from?"
I walk around the kitchen. Grace walks around the kitchen. We enlist her sisters to help walk around the kitchen. I unplug the toaster. I peek inside the microwave. I unplug the kitchen clock. Nothing. The beeeeeeeep continues. The sound gets louder in some areas and softer in some areas. I cannot for the life of me figure out where this high pitched squeal is coming from. I check the obvious places - the oven, the refrigerator, my watch. I look at her old meters on the shelf, pulling my ear in close. Nothing. The sound comes and goes as we both walk around the kitchen.
Grace leaves to sit on the couch in the living room.
"G, the sound is gone from the kitchen now."
"It's out here Mom, the sound is out here now. I still hear it."
"What do you mean G?"
I go out to look. I get closer to her. I lean into her and the Pod on her upper right thigh.
It is squealing.
"MOM, it's ME!!!!"

HAHAhahaha...
thank you!
Recycling is good for the earth, even recycled blog posts. It's still funny the second time around. We have it the other way most of the time. Anything beeps and I think it's Caleb.
OK, THAT was good Penny. I am glad you reposted, I don't think I read this one the first time around.
:)
You are right, I am loving the DOC. So many great posts and I am finding new blogs too!
Too funny! We hear beeps so often that it becomes easy to miss them. :-)
Ah yes... the mysterious "beep" and the fun trying to figure out what it is. We always check Elise first.
That story still makes me laugh!
The entire scene is so vivid! Probably because I can see it totally happening to us!
hahaha lol this is a good one!! I can totally see everyone walking around you house searching for this beeeeep.
L.O.V.E it!! Can totally relate to those beeeeeeeps!!! We've had three pods in a row last their full time...after a string of alarms (13 pods in 8 weeks!!) We've been caught off guard for pod change day because we had gotten so use to those alarms dictating the change!!
hahahaha! So totally been there!!
FYI - I strongly dislike that sound right now. I have a funny video I should post for you. Nate sounds like a squealing pod!
I remember this one from last year and it's lovely to read it again. Your personalities shine through it and I can see you wandering around the house in my mind's eye.
Thank you! I needed that!
So been there! I threw away a pod once without deactivating it and my husband and I searched for a whole day for the source of the noise. He finally gave up and had a snack. Throwing the wrapper away, he discovered the trash can was the one squealing!
LOL crazy how sounds that most people ignore are so meaningful to us.
Haha! That is too funny!
Whenever I feel/hear a vibration, it takes a while to check my phone, pump, and CGM to figure out if it is me or someone else!
