I went to check Grace's blood sugar at 2 am last night and this is our conversation -
Click click click. The darn clicker clicks, but it won't draw blood.
I cannot see as I don't have my glasses on, so maybe the setting is wrong.
I click on her pinky finger, always a 2 am finger. Usually first try gets it for me.
Click click click. Nothing.
Click click click. Nothing.
Here is where I curse. Under my breath. Quietly ;0)
A tiny little thumb appears from under the covers.
A tiny little smile creeps across her face while her eyes are closed.
"Mom, here's my thumb. It's a tremendous bleeder."

OMG! I could just eat her up! Too cute and I had a "for f*ck-sake" escape on exhalation at for my 2am check...ERROR 5! UGH.
I got the ERROR 5 at 1am, and honestly don't remember the 3am cause I was too damned tired! (Pretty sure she was in range, though!)
Awwww, how sweet! Elise freaked out during the 3 am check... tucked her hands under her body and yelled, "don't check my blood shure!" She was still asleep, but I guess she could sense me coming.
CURSE ERROR 5!!!!!!
So sweet ;) Love that girl of yours!
She is sassy and delicious!
I hate it when the hole driver doesn't do it's job in the middle of the night. I rub the inside of Ellie's palm when she's sleeping and she magically opens her fingers for me...it's a little sad sometimes for me. But I love it when she makes a joke on a heavy bleeder, "mom, we gotta bleeder!". It makes me crack up in a D sort of way!!!
Loves!!!
Love me so Grace!!!
She sounds incredibly sweet and funny!
Your girl makes me smile. What a great sense of humour and use of language! And in the middle of the night.
I love that! :)
I also love the pinky for the middle of the night checks. Tremendous indeed! That made me smile. :)
